A summer workshop seriesFor English Teachers

AI + Practice

Build the systems you'll lean on when school starts. Five workshops, dropping weekly through summer.

Feedback, retrieval, differentiation, student choice, and discussion. Five English teaching practices, dropping weekly between June 22 and July 20. Each one is a workshop where you design how the practice actually runs in your classroom.

The current

It's summer, and the AI conversation hasn't quieted.

Whatever your district has been rolling out, whatever your students did with ChatGPT all spring, however many prompt packs have come across your feed, none of it has settled the question of what AI actually does inside an English classroom. The conversation runs at the pace of a school day, with no time to think it through.

You have time this summer to engage with that question on your own terms, before someone else decides for you.

What summer affords

Engage with this on your own terms.

The series uses summer differently from most PD. You work through it at your own pace, with the time to actually think. The job underneath the whole thing is straightforward.

Build pedagogy-grounded AI infrastructure now, so AI is working inside your decisions in October, not in spite of them.

By August you have working systems you didn't have to invent during the school year.

Inside each workshop

Design the system yourself, with AI scaffolding the thinking.

Each workshop is a self-contained design experience for one teaching practice. You work through what you actually believe about the practice, design how it should operate in your classroom, and build the tools that run it.

To do that work, each workshop gives you an audio course on the pedagogy underneath the practice, prompts that walk you through the design, starter tools (including pre-built Gemini gems), video walkthroughs of how to use everything, and a private podcast Q&A that keeps running after the drop. Across the series you work with Gemini, NotebookLM, and Claude or ChatGPT.

The frameworks I share are scaffolding; the systems and tools you leave with are yours.

Start with one workshop, or build the whole summer sequence.

Each workshop stands on its own. The bundles give you a way to connect the practices into a larger system before the school year starts.

By August

Year-ready systems by August.

By the time school starts, you have working systems for whichever practices you took. They're tools you built, designs you made, with AI working inside your decisions instead of around them.

You also have the practice underneath the whole series, which means when the next AI thing arrives, you already know how to bring it into a teaching practice without losing the practice.

Four ways in

Take the series your way.

Take one workshop on its own, two as a year-long systems bundle, three as a responsive-teaching bundle, or all five weekly through summer.

One workshop · Single

Take one.

Any individual workshop on its own. The right entry point if you want to focus on one teaching practice this summer.

Includes

Any one workshop from the five above.

Two workshops · System Pair

Year-long systems.

Feedback and retrieval together. Both workshops are about building infrastructure that runs across a whole year and strengthens reading over time.

Includes

AI and Grading and Feedback (June 22)
AI and Spacing and Retrieval (June 29)

Five workshops · Full Series

The full series.

All five workshops, dropping weekly from June 22 through July 20. The full design practice operationalized across every practice in the catalog.

Includes

Feedback, Retrieval, Differentiation, Choice, and Discussion.

Three workshops · Responsive Trio

The student in front of you.

Feedback, differentiation, and choice together. Three workshops for designing around the individual student, with grading as the connective tissue.

Includes

AI and Grading and Feedback (June 22)
AI and Differentiation (July 6)
AI and Designing for Student Choice (July 13)

For TFT members

If you're inside Teaching for Today, the membership extends each workshop further into your workflow.

The tools you build during summer get email systems for student-facing communication wrapped around them, plus longitudinal tracking that follows the data across the year. The workshop teaches you to design the system. The membership integrates it into how you actually teach.

Built for English teachers

The substance is English-teacher substance.

The practices are English practices, the texts are English texts, and what each workshop is actually scaffolding is the kind of analytical work you already do with your students.

A history or science teacher could read along and pick up the meta-skill of training AI to work inside a discipline's thinking, but the workshops aren't built for them. They're built for the work you're actually doing in your classroom.

Yes, add AI and Discussion Design to my order for $29.

I'm in for July 22!
Discussion is where the rest of the work shows up. Retrieval, differentiation, and choice all play out in conversation, which is part of why it sits at the end of the series. The workshop builds discussion structures where every student in the room is doing cognitive work, even the ones not speaking. Same kit shape as the rest of your order: audio on the pedagogy, prompts, walkthroughs, tools you build, and the private podcast Q&A that runs after the drop.
